1. When did you start playing piano?
I
started taking piano lessons when I was 5 years old. However, I have been
playing piano since I was old enough to crawl to the piano.

2. Is your whole family musical?
My mother is a piano teacher. She was my inspiration. My dad can play piano by ear
and he is really quite good. All of my siblings play piano. My sister Susan is the best
sight- reader I know. She is also an organist. My brother Josh is a recording artist also.
He writes his own music and he can sing and play piano at the same time. My brother
Jim is a Music teacher. He is the Choir director in the mix. All of the spouses and their
children are musical. Imagine our get-togethers. We always have some sort
of talent show.

3. Did you teach piano lessons to your children? Do they play piano?
I started all 3 of our children on piano lessons. Doug took piano lessons when he was
young so he was very supportive of this.
Growing up in our home, since their dad was a Pastor and their mom was a piano teacher…only 2 things were required of them. They had to be involved in Church stuff and they had to learn to play the piano. All 3 of them can play piano and sing. I love it when we are all home together. We create beautiful music.

4. Do you play any other types of music other than religious?
Yes, I can and yes, I do.
I have played at receptions, programs, and school events. I
have been background music at style shows, art/gallery showings and was in the
pit band several years for the ‘Miss North Dakota’ pageant. I even played at a
piano bar in HS and College days.

5. Do you ever compose your own music?
I am not that creative. I know my strengths are in arranging music that I want to hear my way. I want to play the piano and sing through my fingers. I love using a classical piece of music and pairing it with a hymn. I also love to arrange music for my choir to sing.

6. Are there a lot of pastors in your family? How many?
I have really never counted all of them. My husband, dad, brother, cousins (on both sides) uncles (on both sides) …the list goes on and on.
Many of my relatives and even my children preach to me.

7. Do you have plans to release more Albums?
I have a Christmas album, ‘JOY’ that will be available in November. I am
currently working on a wedding album using music I have played at over 50
weddings through the years.
